I am working on landscapes again. This one is ink on paper, approx. 6 x 8,” and is from Central Park. Which is appropriate, because I am headed there now. It is still not finished; I need to smooth over some of the fussiness in the trees, but the paper gets wet and I am thinking about migrating birds and I can’t work on this another minute today.
Trees, trees, murmuring trees.
Catherine: Birding tip for the weekend. Folks today reported an outfall of birds in various spots, including several chats and Mourning Warblers, tomorrow might be a good day to check for a Tropical Storm driven outfall, OR if you have some large reservoirs nearby to check: look for storm driven terns and even tubesnoses. Species like Leach’s Storm Petrel, Pom Jaeger and even Sooty Tern have showed up in the interior of MA in recent years even after the passage of just a middlin’ Tropical Storm. Of course, birding being birding, you might just get wet. BUT SUNDAY, first day of clearing could be a big day for Central Park. if you can make it to some coast, look for Royal and Sandwich Terns. If you do get out, can you post what you get even if it’s negative?
